Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American TV chef personality. She was also an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. Anne W. Burrell is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef for the Food Network, as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network star with her trademark spikey blonde hair and pumped up personality reveals easy techniques to master and reduces intimidation of restaurants dishes on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell is also a part of several of the most prestigious eateries within New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy as well as competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food at an early age. Her passion was for the restaurant industry by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is where I spent the most fun time of my life. It was hard to study and do enough or put in the hours. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year learning at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred establishment. Burrell gained a greater understanding of Italian food and culture during her stay in Italy, which has influenced her style of cooking. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of children who are struggling. She also is a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation celebrity advocate where she promotes awareness of young diabetics. As a guest speaker and mentor Burrell travels throughout the U.S. to share her love for cooking and professional career. Anne in all her culinary journey has stated that it's an honor to have the opportunity to share this passion for life with others.
